Faith in Action

At Lanes Chapel UMC we believe that it isn't just pastors who do the life-changing work of the church, EACH AND EVERY MEMBER carries this responsibility as well. Each year everyone gets the opportunity to volunteer for ministries, needs, jobs that match their abilities and desires. Volunteering means that the church becomes a place that you can give as well as receive.

We all have a longing to make a difference in the lives of others and our church. Jesus teaches us that the best way to demonstrate our love for God and find happiness within ourselves is by serving the needs and giving to others.

Romans 12:4-8 "4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully."

FAITH IN ACTION 2014: Follow in His footsteps

Lanes Chapel UMC believes that following Jesus means taking action, by putting your FAITH IN ACTION. That's why we've implemented an annual campaign known as "FAITH IN ACTION." It's an opportunity each year for all of our members to prayerfully think through how they are walking as it were in the footsteps of Jesus by giving to others and volunteering our time and talents to serve.
